San Maung Than, Narinjara — Independent candidate U Thar Sein will campaign in Sittwe using traditional Arakan drums to garner support for his campaign. The popular comedian is running for a seat in the state parliament known as Sittwe Township Constituency No 2.
“I have already campaigned in the villages and in the rural area. I will campaign in Sittwe town near the election. I will campaign by having the Arakan drum played by an Arakan drum group to make it [his campaign] different from others,” U Thar Sein told Narinjara News.
U Thar Sein's signboards will be erected starting from October 13th and will be placed in 12 areas across the constituency.
“I will call for the public’s support in my campaign as I am a person who wants to forever carry out my duty for Arakan State and the Arakan people. I have been working for the benefit of Arakan State and the Arakan people and I will continue to do this forever,” said U Thar Sein.
He said he has full confidence in winning the election due to his self described support amongst the Arakan electorate.
