The two sides had previously agreed on four terms submitted by government officials in their first meeting in government controlled Kengtung on September 7th. Both sides came to an official ceasefire agreement on that date.

Included in the terms agreed on by both sides were NDAA’s promise not to secede from the Union of Myanmar, promised cooperation for improving healthcare and transportation in NDAA controlled areas, and cooperation for the improvement of tourism, mining and electricity.

Terms agreed upon during the first meeting September 7th included conditions for the current ceasefire.
