The Military Council launched an airstrike on Victoria Camp, where the headquarters of the Chin National Front (CNF/CNA) is located on the evening of January 10th, killing 5 CNF members and injuring many others.

The attack came 10 days after the Military Council announced on January 1st that there would be a ceasefire for the whole year of 2023.

CNF/CAN announced that the 5 comrades who martyred in the Military Council's air attack were Salai Van Ro Pyan, Mai Ngun Hlay Par, Mai Shwe Lan Par, Salai Du Thin and Salai Kil Man.

Sources close to the incident said that two women were among those who lost their lives, and at least 10 others suffered injuries.

Sources said 5 fighter jets of the Military Council launched the airstrikes at around 4:30 PM.

There were reports that bombs landed and exploded on the Indian side when the Military Council's warplanes attacked Camp Victoria.

CNF signed a mutual agreement with the National Unity Government (NUG) on May 29th, 2022, to revolt the dictatorship and establish a federal democratic system.

CNF is also an organization that signed a ceasefire agreement with the Myanmar government in 2012.
