Since September, confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been found in Mon State, and there is a problem of time delay in transporting them to the hospital in Mawlamyine Township according to the Charities helping with the Covid-19 crisis.
According to the charity official from Mawlamyine Township, there are problems in notifying and transferring confirmed patients found in specialist hospitals to Mawlamyine Hospital, which are not accepted by the outpatient department OPD.
"The problem is that the specialist hospitals have notified the general hospital, but the hospital director did not tell the OPD, so there are some delays in accepting patients. That problem often happens," he said.
He added that currently, most of the patients diagnosed with Covid-19 are being diagnosed in specialist hospitals in Mon State.
It is difficult to cooperate with the staff of the general hospital in dealing with covid patients, according to a person in charge of the social relief group.
"It is convenient to pick up confirmed patients. When we are sent to a general hospital, we are made to wait, and there is a lot of non-cooperation. It was a delay for us," he said.
He added that it will be more convenient if the departmental staff cooperates with those who are working on the Covid-19 issue.
At present, due to the increasing number of covid infections, he urged people to wear face masks properly.
