Rescue vehicle runs over mines, hurting crew member

On September 9 at 12 am in Ye Township, a car belonging to the funeral and social relief organization Aung Mingalar struck a landmine, seriously injuring the driver, Ko Nay Lin Oo.

After transporting the patient, the automobile hit a landmine on the way back, injuring the driver and another person in the car.

Both were rushed to the hospital, where Ko Nay Lin Oo was in the emergency room after being hit by shrapnel in the neck and around the shoulder.

"The driver is currently in the operating room and is in critical condition. The other has only minor wounds. Whoever carried out the attack … we condemn it. It is intolerable," a representative of the social relief organization Aung Mingalar remarked.

On June 9, a vehicle of Sittaung social relief organization was attacked in front of Latpanpin cemetery on Yangon-Mawlamyine highway near Ingabo village in  Kyaikto Township, killing one and another injured.

Similarly, a rescue vehicle from Myawaddy District opened fire near Tawnaw waterfall on Myawaddy-Kawkayeik Asia Highway in Karen State’s Kawkayeik Township and no one was hurt.
