An investigation tribunal has been established today (March 18) to review the findings regarding the incidents related to the attack by the ARSA insurgency group in Buthidaung and Maungdaw, the Tatmadaw True News Information Team said in a statement.

The statement said that it needs to review all reports concerning the attack according to the recommendations of the Judge Advocate General’s office based on the report of the investigation team that looked into the attack, and evaluating the accusations of the Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International and Fact-Finding Mission organizations.

The statement said that members of the military force and police had to conduct regional security duties for the security of local residents as well as to discover who participated in the attack to retrieve weapons and ammunition after the attack by ARSA at security outposts and villages on August 25 in 2017.

In responding to the attack by ARSA, the office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) directed relevant regional control command to conduct operations in line with rules and regulations.
