Three hundred internally displaced people (IDPs) from Pinso Village in Paletwa Township need immediate emergency aid because there is a food shortage in their camp.

The IDPs have been staying in a camp on the bank of the Kaladan River since early 2015 when they were forced to move there because the Arakan Army (AA) and Burma Army were fighting in the area of Pinso Village.

Ko Hla Thun, a member of the Refugee Relief Committee said: 'They only have enough stocks of food to last until [the end of] December 2015. they do not have any food for next year so they need immediate aid."

He said the IDPs need food items like rice and chilli, school equipment and medicine. He added that some refugees are working on farms near the camp, which has improved their livelihoods.
