The official said that contracts for the operation of Kalaw Hotel, Pindaya Hotel, Wunzin Hotel and Kawthoung Motel would be awarded based on price, investment and proposals for the extension of hotel services.

The four hotels have returned to the Ministry after the previous tender winners failed to abide by their contractual obligations.

“Now, ministry officials are busy in the handover of hotels. We expect to recommence invitation of tenders for these hotels in November,” said an official of the ministry.

The Ministry has leased 20 hotels to private entrepreneurs across the nation including Chaungtha Beach Hotel that was leased for a 15-year contract in August 2014.
