The New Mon State Party - Anti-Dictatorship group (NMSP-AD) declared its intention to establish a Mon State within a future federal democratic framework, ensuring full national equality and self-determination rights for all ethnic groups.

On April 1, NMSP-AD announced its political trajectory towards the formation of a future federal democratic union, affirming its commitment to collaborating with like-minded groups to achieve this objective.

Among its objectives, NMSP-AD seeks to eliminate all forms of dictatorship, dismantle the 2008 Constitution, and build a federal democratic union ensuring the right to self-determination for all ethnic groups within a federal and democratic system.

NMSP-AD's objectives also encompass fostering unity among the Mon ethnic group, promoting multi-ethnic friendship, and establishing a Mon State, where both Mons and other ethnicities can exercise full self-determination.

"We believe in the shared aspiration of all Mon people to build a Mon State where they can shape their own future. This aligns with the mission of NMSP-AD”, Nai Banyar Mon, the spokesperson for NMSP-AD told Than Lwin Times.

NMSP-AD has pledged to reject any political discourse rooted in the National Ceasefire Agreement (NCA), resist attempts to revive the 2008 Constitution, and oppose the ongoing involvement of the Junta in future political affairs.

NMSP-AD also declared its refusal to engage in any form of power-sharing among political elites, emphasizing that collaboration with resistance forces during the revolutionary period will be conducted in alignment with local requirements and federal standards.

NMSP-AD further stated its commitment to collaborating with anti-Junta forces, including armed resistance groups in Mon State, to oppose the coup Junta.

"We are ready to unite with both armed and unarmed groups against the military dictatorship. Our aim is to work alongside key players in the revolution, particularly the National Unity Government (NUG) and Karen National Union (KNU)”, Nai Banyar Mon added.

Simultaneously, NMSP-AD is gearing up to develop and put into action interim governance measures following the removal of the coup regime, and its administrative mechanisms in Mon State. In the planned interim administration measures, diverse revolutionary forces will come together to establish a transitional Mon State government.

NMSP-AD’s roadmap also included provisions for justice for those who have suffered during the conflict, as well as transitional justice measures.

NMSP-AD emerged as a breakaway faction from the original NMSP, opting to confront the Junta. Following its establishment on February 14, NMSP-AD commenced collaboration with resistance forces in the fight against the Junta.
