In the shooting that took place in Zeya Thiri Ward No. 3 of Daing Wun Gwin Area, Mawlamyine city, Mon State, two members of the military council were killed, and five members of the People’s Defense Force (PDF) named Special Underground Movement Force were arrested along with their weapons.

On November 14th at about 5:30, upon receiving information that PDF troops were present at a house in Zeya Thiri Ward 3 of Mawlamyine, about 300 SAC forces went to arrest them, exchanged fire.

“ They were shooting until about 8 o'clock at night, and the sound of machine guns continued. The army came in force. They shouted and asked the people of the neighborhood to leave and move,” said a local resident.

According to the statement of the Special Underground Movement Force, which was involved in fighting, it said that a policeman and the son of the ward administrator were killed during the shooting, and 5 people, including a woman, were arrested along with 3 small guns.

It was also announced that the SAC had about 300 forces and that they had been arrested as they were blocked by machine guns and small guns.

After the shooting, the SAC security force blocked the entire neighborhood as well as the entry and exit points of the area, but it has reopened on the morning of 15 November, according to local residents. The SAC announced that 6 PDF members were captured in the Mawlamyine shooting.
