TNLA Allocates Over 400 Million MMK for Reconstruction Efforts in 5 Northern Shan Townships

The Palaung State Liberation Front/ Ta'ang National Liberation Army (PSLF/TNLA) allocated over 400 million MMK for reconstructing efforts in five captured townships in northern Shan State.

During a meeting with residents, PSLF/TNLA provided 44 Million 360,0000 MMK to fund rehabilitation efforts in the five townships of Namhkam, Namhsan, Mantong, Namtu, and Mongngawt in northern Shan State, that had been captured from the Junta.

Brigadier General Tar Gu Jar, the Head of the Administration Department of PSLF/TNLA, along with officials, distributed the funds to families in the affected townships whose homes were damaged due to the war, during a ceremony.

During 'Operation 1027', airstrikes and arbitrary shelling by the Junta damaged 421 houses in the five townships. According to PSLF/TNLA, funds were allocated by dividing them into grades A, B, and C, based on the extent of damage to homes.

PSLF/TNLA and other Ta'ang civil society organizations have offered grants to families who lost members due to the Junta's shelling and artillery strikes during the conflict.

For other townships under PSLF/TNLA control, it has been announced that ongoing support will be extended to those affected by the war and individuals requiring rehabilitation assistance.

It has also been announced that PSLF/TNLA will intensify efforts to uphold law and order in towns and villages, combat drug-related crimes, eliminate telecom scams and online gambling, ensure stability, and promote the establishment of a fair justice system in the townships under its governance.

No information was disclosed about the financial sources for acquiring the  44 million MMK  budget.
