State Counsellor uses Facebook for COVID-19

Chit Min Tun — In her Facebook post, State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi said that she used Facebook for quick and effective contact with people in prevention of the COVID-19 virus which causes severe acute respiratory syndrome disease.

State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi signed up a Facebook account with username ‘Aung San Suu Kyi’ on April 6, 2016 but she did not use it and then she posted a message on April 1, 2020 saying she is now using the account.

This post says, “I had absolutely no intention to use Facebook but now I use this account for contacting people quickly and effectively.”

Within an hour of her first post, she got 82 K Likes, 13 K comments and 20 K shares.
