According to the New Mon State Party (Anti-Military Dictatorship), the Kawt Bein Village Police Station in Kawkareik Township, Karen State, was attacked and captured by joint revolutionary forces, resulting in the seizure of weapons and ammunition.
The police station came under attack on the morning of March 24th, and military junta forces surrendered on the afternoon of March 25th.
Spokesperson Nai Banyar Mon of the New Mon State Party (Anti-Military Dictatorship) told the Independent Mon News Agency, "We have taken control of the police station, and it is confirmed that the military junta has surrendered. Currently, we do not know exactly how many surrendered, but we have seized 10 guns," said Nai Banyar Mon.
Despite the capture of the police station by the joint revolutionary forces, local residents report ongoing air attacks by the military junta and mortar shelling by the navy.
During the assault, two local residents were injured, and a monastery, a nunnery, and several houses were damaged.
The attack on the Kawt Bein police station was carried out by the New Mon State Party (Anti-Military Dictatorship), Mon Liberation Army (MLA), Tiger White Column, and the Garuda Column Joint Group.
