Pa-O pro- Junta Militia Amassing Arms from Regime’s Weapons Warehouse To attack Pa-O brothers in the PNLA aligned with Resistance Forces

The Pa-O National Army (PNA), under the command of Military Council, is actively amassing weapons and ammunition with the intention to fight the Pa-O National Liberation Army (PNLA) and the People's Defense Forces (PDF).

The Pa-O National Army (PNA) shared images on its Facebook page, depicting the stockpiling of weapons and ammunition from the Junta’s warehouses, along with a statement indicating its allegiance to fight alongside the Military Council.

The images reveal a significant quantity of rifles assembled at the Junta’s arms caches and factories, along with shoulder-mounted grenade launchers, long-range mortars, and explosive ordnance devices.

The Pa-O National Liberation Organization (PNLO) and its armed wing PNLA, signed the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) in 2015.  On January 21st, skirmishes erupted between PNA and PNLA near Sanhpu village in Hopong Township, southern Shan State, triggered by provocations aimed at a PNLA convoy.

The following night, Military Council troops launched an assault on PNLO headquarters despite no active conflict, resulting in casualties among the surrounding civilian population.

After that the PNLA militia shifted its position, declaring its resolve to combat the military dictatorship in collaboration with other resistance forces. However the PNLA still extended an invitation to PNA to participate in the National Liberation Movement, aiming to prevent inter-ethnic conflicts among the two Pa-O armed organizations.

Recently PNLA and a PDF launched a joint attack on Hsihseng town, which then prompted the deliberate release of photos by the PNA, showcasing its amassed weapons.

At  the same time the PNA declared its commitment to collaborate with the coup regime in facilitating the return of war-displaced residents of Hsihseng to their homes.
