The NUG states that more than 1,400 airstrikes have been conducted on residential and religious buildings during this period.

"The displaced individuals, the Rohingya people in IDP camps, and the Rakhine people affected by the Mocha cyclone are all in urgent need of humanitarian assistance. Despite international aid efforts, it often fails to reach those who need it the most. Hence, we appeal to the international community to refrain from delivering aid through the ineffective 'terrorist' military regime on the ground. Instead, we earnestly request that the international community take direct actions to provide assistance and support to these vulnerable populations."
After the military coup, individuals who refused to accept the coup participated in peaceful protests, while the elected members of parliament who had won the 2020 election came together to establish both the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and the National Unity Government (NUG).
