More than 330 cries were reported in Ye Township, Mon State for all of 2015 according to the Ye Township Police Chief's Office.
According to documents gathered by the Police Chief's Office the crimes were reported to three different police stations: Ye Town Police Station, Lamine [Town] Police Station and Kawsar [Town] Police Station.
Police Chief Myint Taw, of Ye Township Police Force said: “Ye Town Police Station saw the most criminal cases."
There were 225 crimes reported to Ye Township Police Station, 44 to Lamine Police Station and 33 to Kawsar Police Station.
One death and one drug case were amongst those investigated by officers from Lamine Police Station whilst amongst the incidents investigated by Kawsar Police Station there was one death, two murders and five drug cases. Of the 10 major crimes committed in Ye Township there were two cases of rape and two cases of robbery.
According to U Khin Maung Gyi, of the State Hluttaw (parliament) Supreme Court between 2011 and October 2015 44,663 were tried in ten criminal courts in Mon townships.
According to documents released at the 12th regular session of the Mon State Hluttaw within the last five years approximately 39,224 kyats have been confiscated in gambling cases and 1,230,141 million kyats have been seized in drugs cases.
