“The mountain collapsed near Daw Tin Aye’s restaurant in Yak-Ka-La Village after midnight. We had to assist the social relief groups from Payathonzu who came to assist the flood-affected people. Now, the road is inaccessible,” said Nai Lin Aung, a resident of Kyainseikgyi, told KIC News.

“We can’t send the machines due to the flood. We are renting tractors in the village. We are finish [clearing up the road]. Now, we are removing with manpower since we couldn’t get tractors at the moment,” said U Thein Zaw Htay, engineering chief of Kyaikseikgyi Township, told KIC News.

Local residents said the authorities and local residents are trying to clear the road block as much as they can.
