KNDF forms an artillery arm in Karenni State

The Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF), a strong revolutionary force in Karenni State, has formed an artillery arm to combat the Myanmar junta forces.

According to Ko Mawi of the KNDF, the KNDF has formed 21 battalions and an artillery force to attack the Military Council army with heavy artillery using 60 mm, 80 mm and 120 mm shells.

"It is the result of the campaign ‘Mama myar nak pwal ka mal’. With the help of the ‘Mama myar nak pwal ka mal’ campaign, we formed an artillery force to fight the regime forces. We are planning a strategic attack on the Military Council camps. We will be able to fight more strategically in the battle situation,” Ko Mawi said.

Furthermore, he stated that in the near future, the Military Council army camps and strategic hills will be threatened.

A 60 mm shell currently costs 250,000 Myanmar kyat, an 80 mm shell costs around 700,000 kyat, and a 120 mm shell costs around 1,300,000 kyat.

According to ground information, Karenni state, which has 12 townships and a population of over 300,000 people, has up to 35 battalions of revolutionary forces and around 10 other revolutionary groups.

The majority of Karenni State's townships are at war, with daily clashes between the Military Council and revolutionary forces. Nearly 200,000 locals from more than 500 villages have fled as a result of the fighting.
