KIO Chairman N’ban La made a speech on the 62nd anniversary of Kachin Revolution Day on February 5, urging the people to prepare security measures in anticipation of0 military escalation in 2023.
This year the chairman of the KIO (Kachin Independent Organization) warned, “ there may be more battles than previous years, and if the revolution is to be successful, the support of the people is very important. Every revolution supported by the people will be successful, and then the new generation will have a free country.”
“The goal of the entire country is to root out the military regime , and this is why the KIA/KIO is working together with the NUG government and other armed organizations. The above speech also stated that,” civil war can be stopped and political conflicts can be resolved, only if there is equality among all ethnic groups, rather than giving power to a single organization.”
The KIO/KIA chairman also declared that “For more than 70 years since the military seized power, the minority ethnic groups have almost lost their literature and culture, and the civil war has lasted for a long time, so chauvinism is very scary and the long- established chauvinism in Myanmar must be overcome during the construction of the federal union.”
He added that “At this time in order to root out the military dictatorship with our own strength, we should vigorously participate in the revolution without making envious and hateful statements about each other, and continue to fight the disease and the epidemic of Covid 19 with caution.”
