Karenni Joint Forces Capture Junta Camp and Mese Police Station on Salween River's East Side

In the early morning of June 13, joint forces comprising the Karenni Army (KA), Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF), and People's Defense Force (PDF) carried out an attack on a Military Council camp and the Mese police station located on the Thai-Karenni border, east of the Salween River. According to Khu Nye Reh, the Minister of the Ministry of Home Affairs of the revolutionary Karenni government, the joint forces successfully captured the camp and police station.

Khu Nye Reh said, “Yes, I can confirm that the Taung Hla [ military base camp] is located on the eastern bank of the Salween River. I have received information indicating that the base camp has been taken over. Taung Hla camp is known for housing substantial weapons, food warehouses, and ammunition storage facilities."

During the battle,  the joint forces acquired weapons and ammunition from the Military camp. Although there have been notable casualties, the exact details are currently undisclosed.

Khu Nye Reh stated that following the battle, four warplanes belonging to the Military Council  and launched attacks, accompanied by artillery shelling. This suggests the possibility of additional casualties occurring as a result.

The Taung Hla camp, which was successfully captured, is situated on BP-14 and BP-15, located on the eastern side of the Salween River. This camp serves as the Military Council's storage facility for ammunition and food supplies. According to local residents, the Mese police station is located near the BP-13 gate and is relatively less guarded by security forces. They also mention that the control of the Military Council is limited to the Mese police station and certain urban areas within the town, while there are regions under the control of local revolutionary armed forces.

As of now, there has been no official news or updates from the joint forces consisting of the Karenni Army (KA), Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF), and People's Defense Force (PDF) regarding the capture of the Military Council base camp.

On June 13, the 14th Battalion of the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) reported that on June 11, joint defense forces conducted an attack on two military council gate stations located in Loikaw Township.

On June 11 at 6:45 p.m., the KNDF Battalion 14, along with joint forces, launched an attack on a Military Council gate station situated near Dawtachar Village in Loikaw Township. As a result of the assault, several Military Council troops were killed, while the joint forces did not sustain any casualties.

Additionally, on the same day, the Nwar La Woe intersection checkpoint located near Nwar La Woe village came under fire from both large and small arms. As a result, it is believed that military council troops might have sustained injuries. Reports also indicate that the buildings within the military council camp were damaged during the attack.
