Kachin IDPs to return home

The working committee on resettlement of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Kachin State yesterday disbursed aid to IDPs from the Jarmaingkaung RC Camp in Myitkyina, who will return to their homes soon, state media reported.

Over 310 IDPs from the camp will return to Tarlawgyi Village, 173 IDPs to Kanpaingyan Ward in Chibwe Township, and 64 IDPs to Yitjaw Village.

At a meeting, the administrators of Myitkyina and Chibwe townships asked the committee to help in security and landmine clearance, construction of houses, and ensure water and power supply, education, health, and livelihoods at the villages where the IDPs plan to resettle.
