Junta Launches Drone Attack on IDP Camp in MoeBye, Resulting in Three Deaths and Three Injuries

The junta targeted an IDP camp in MoeBye, near the Shan-Karenni border, with a deliberate drone strike, resulting in the deaths of three civilians and injuries to three others, according to Ta Eh Soe, a spokesperson for the Karenni National Defense Force (KNDF).

On December 4, the junta carried out a drone strike at an IDP camp amid ongoing battles in the area.

“The military deliberately bombed the IDP camp, killing three civilians—a man who was burned to death, a woman, and a child. Additionally, three children were injured,” said Ta Eh Soe.

Details regarding the ages of the deceased and the conditions of the injured remain unclear, he added.

According to an announcement by the MoeBye Rescue Team, the drone strike targeted a tent sheltering a family.

The father was killed, while the mother and two daughters sustained injuries.

Furthermore, on December 3, the military conducted an airstrike near Saikhun village in Pekhon Township, also close to the Shan-Karenni border, killing a 14-year-old boy. During the same month, additional airstrikes and artillery attacks in Pekhon Township claimed the lives of four civilians.

Since November 14, battles between the military and revolutionary forces have intensified in MoeBye.

In addition to ground fighting, the junta has been carrying out airstrikes and artillery shelling in areas far from the frontlines, causing further displacement of civilians, according to local revolutionary groups.
