Local people told Mizzima that villagers in Kinma Village, Pauk Township, who fled after their houses were set on fire, need emergency assistance.
A person fleeing with villagers said, “There are about 150 people in the site I am caring for. The census is still underway. They had to flee urgently, so they don’t have much food and water. If it rains the IDPs will get into trouble because they didn’t bring anything to make shelters.”
He said the IDPs, including the elderly and children, are in need of medicines. So far, some families are still separated.
