Fighting breaks out between KNLA and Tatmadaw in Lay Kay Kaw Myothit

Heavy fighting broke out between Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) troops and the military in Lay Kay Kaw Myothit according to a Mizzima source on the ground.

The source said that although there was some negotiation between the two sides regarding clashes the previous evening, clashes are likely to resume.

Because of the fighting, more than 800 people in Lay Kay Kaw fled to safety and the roads in Lay Kay Kaw are currently empty.

According to local sources, six Tatmadaw troops were killed and eight others captured.
