Chin Resistance Forces Secure Lailenpi, Marking 2nd Town Captured

Salai Htet Ni, the spokesperson for the Chin National Front (CNF), has officially confirmed to MNJ that the town of Lailenpi in Chin State was successfully seized on November 24th.

He further noted that although the resistance forces led by the Chin National Army (CNA),the armed wing of the CNF managed to gain control of Lailenpi, two outposts of the Military Council near the town remain unconquered. MNJ continues to reach out to frontline sources for the latest updates on the ongoing operation.

In Chin State, Lailenpi has become the second town to be captured by anti-Junta resistance forces. Lailenpi, which has a population of around 3000, was upgraded from village tract level to town level in 2016 under the civilian government. There is also an airstrip under construction in the town.

On November 13th, Rikhawdar, situated near the India-Myanmar border, became the first town in Chin State to be seized by resistance forces.

On November 22nd, CNF/CNA declared their commitment to uphold the people's administration mechanisms, collaboratively formulated with the local public in that town.

On October 27th, the Three Brotherhood Alliance initiated 'Operation 1027,' launching attacks on the Military Council in the northern territories of Shan State, situated in the eastern part of Myanmar. Subsequently, ethnic resistance forces commenced operations to capture towns in Chin State, located on the western frontier of Myanmar.
