Burma Army Torches Homes In Northern Chin State Village

The regime’s armed forces have burned people’s homes in northern Chin State, while travelling from Hakha to Falam, Khonumthung News has learned.

On Wednesday, soldiers with a Burma Army (BA) convoy burned seven houses in Ramthlo, which is just off the highway.

A Falam resident, speaking to Khonumthung News on condition of anonymity, said that villagers were aware that the 100-strong convoy, travelling in 20 trucks and with two tanks, were on their way and had fled to the jungle.

“We can’t contact them,” he said.

The source explained that the convoy left Hakha on 2 May and the Chinland Defense Force attacked it Wednesday, killing at least 13 soldiers. The BA retaliated by burning innocent civilians’ homes in Ramthlo.
