Border pass cards are being issued to cross India-Myanmar border via No 2 border trading camp Rihkhawdar-Zowkhawthar border checkpoint.
Anyone wishing to get the border pass can get it at the immigration office in Rihkhawdar by bringing a copy of his or her national registration card and household registration and 500 kyats.
“One had to go to Mizoram without any visa in the past. Now, border pass is being issued so the travellers can feel safe since they can travel officially now. The people from the other side can also enter here officially so they don’t need to worry anymore,” said U Lalpeklawma, deputy head of the Rihkhawdar Information and Public Relations Department.
The border pass is valid for one year and allows 14-day visit for Myanmar citizens within Champhai District in Mizoram State and Indian citizens within Falam District, Chin State.
