Border Guard Force (BGF) Lieutenant Win Soe, and his wife, Daw Zin Mar Myo were shot dead on the morning of August 24, according to local residents.
The incident occurred near the Tarbaung bridge between Kawthtin village and Boyargyi village.
The couple were shot with a 40mm firearm while they were returning from shopping in their car at around 9:00 am.
Lieutenant Win Soe was shot in the head, chest and knee, while Daw Zin Mar Myo was shot in the head and arm. Both died at the scene.
The bodies of the deceased were taken to the public hospital in Kyaikhto township by the social rescue team.
The Kyaikhto Revolution Force (KRF) announced that a joint force of the People's Defense Forces (PDF) ambushed the car.
The Kyaikhto Revolution Force released information stating Lieutenant Win Soe was notorious for reporting to the military junta, arresting and killing people, gambling, smuggling cars, confiscating land along with township farms, extorting money, and cutting off residents electricity.
In the township of Kyaikhto, individuals who endorse the military junta and those who serve as informers, are often subjected to shootings resulting in fatalities.
