In southern Chin State, a protracted and intense battle has raged on between the Junta and the joint resistance groups, led by the Chinland Defense Force (CDF). In the last 10 days, approximately 50 Military Council soldiers have been killed and many others have been injured, according to statements from CDF-Kanpetlet brigade commander Tun Lein Hta.

The CDF commander that reported that "The Military Council split into two columns, launching offensives on two fronts simultaneously. They have suffered about 50 killed, and we have also subjected them to our landmine attacks about 20 times, with casualties yet to be fully counted. We estimate that about 50 of their side have died in the shooting alone.”

The resistance joint forces also experienced casualties, with two members of CDF-Kanpetlet killed and nine others sustained injuries.

From July 14th -26th, the Chin joint force, carried out an earlier ambush on the over 300 Military Council   which had arrived on 20 military trucks with the intention of supplying food and manpower to the town of   Kyindway, part of Kanpetlet.

Despite facing heavy resistance along their path, the Military Council troops have been steadily advancing towards Kyindway. They are now approximately 10 miles away from the town.

Simultaneously, intense battles broke out between the Chin resistance forces and a Military Council column consisting of over 100 men. This column had been deployed from Kanpetlet to Magway Region, starting their journey on July 26th and eventually arriving at their destination.

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) of the National Unity Government (NUG) announced that CNA, CDF, and PDF jointly conducted ambushes from two locations on July 24th, targeting the Military Council troops aiming to control the border between Magway Region and Chin State. According to NUG's statement, 20 Military Council soldiers were killed and many wounded, while 9 comrades from the Chin resistance forces were wounded.

On July 16th, a fierce battle resulted in the death of 6 Military Council troops, and many others were injured. Two days later, on July 18th, the conflict near Masartwi village claimed the lives of 8 soldiers, including an officer from the Military Council, with numerous others injured. In response to their losses, the Military Council launched airstrikes with 5 jets, bombing the area at least 20 times, causing destruction to at least 7 houses and a church in Masartwi.

Due to the protracted duration of the fighting, the demand for ammunition and food has increased significantly for the Chin resistance forces, who are engaged in combat on two fronts simultaneously.

"We appeal to the people and NUG to support us in acquiring and replenishing ammunition. We remain committed to fighting tirelessly”, Tun Lein Hta told Khonumthung News.

Furthermore, over 3000 displaced individuals, forced to flee their homes amidst the clashes between Chin State and Magway Region, are in dire need of immediate humanitarian aid, including food, shelter, and medicine.
