Airstrikes Hit Wah Bo Village in Sittwe, Ruining 10 Houses

The junta executed airstrikes on Wah Bo village in Sittwe Township, recognized for its traditional Arakan handloom sector, demolishing about 10 homes.

A Sittwe local informed Narinjara News that the junta air force dropped a 500-pound bomb on Wah Bo village around 5:00 pm on February 26, leading to the devastation of roughly 10 homes.

"Today, the junta launched a bomb straight onto Wah Bo village. There were no fatalities, but ten homes were ruined, he indicated.

There was no combat in Wah Bo village, yet the junta conducted airstrikes. The villagers had already evacuated the region because of the ongoing conflict, so no injuries were reported.

A woman from Sittwe told Narinjara News that there had been confrontations between the Arakan Army (AA) and junta troops close to Wah Bo and Min Hla villages. Nonetheless, following the withdrawal of the junta forces, airstrikes have persisted regularly in these villages.

"Although the combat ceased, they continued to bomb. They focused on regions on the edges of Sittwe where the conflict had taken place. They likewise bombed Pauktaw, and the following day, Ponnagyun. They even bombarded Ah Myint Kyun," she mentioned.

Furthermore, junta troops stationed in Zaw Ma Det village in Sittwe launched approximately 20 artillery shells, demolishing 10 homes in Min Hla village.

On February 15, junta troops also shelled Min Hla (known as Mee Laung Chaung) village in Sittwe Township, damaging approximately 10 homes.

The AA launched heavy artillery, such as howitzers taken from the junta, at various crucial military installations of the junta, including the Regional Operations Command (ROC) in Sittwe.

This came after the junta dropped nearly 30 bombs on around eight villages spanning three islands in Pauktaw Township on February 20, resulting in four fatalities and injuring 17 individuals.

While the combat between the AA and junta forces in Sittwe has ceased, skirmishes and airstrikes continue to occur regularly near Kyaukphyu town.
