AA Captures the Largest Military Installation on Western Frontier

The Arakan Army (AA) declared the successful capture of the strategically vital Tarunaing tactical command base situated along the western frontier of Myanmar close to borders with Bangladesh and India on December 4th.

AA reported that the ambitious operation targeting the Tarunaing base, a hill-based strategic military installation which began on November 14th, successfully culminated in the full capture of the base by December 4th.

This landmark victory has international implication, erodes the capacity of the regime to control an important strategic border region and could pose a challenge to the Indian government’s policy of normal relations with the coup-regime.

Throughout the 21-day operation, AA acknowledged incurring significant losses, while striving to achieve its objectives. Despite facing relentless day and night assaults, including airstrikes, artillery attacks, and the deployment of chemical warfare by the opposing Military Council, it ultimately succeeded in capturing the base, as reported by the AA.

AA troops discovered the corpses of the Junta soldiers within the Tarunaing base and confiscated military weaponry and equipment.

Now the AA is engaged in an on-going operation to attack the Hnonebu base, a heavily fortified tactical command center belonging to the Junta. They also stated that it is decisively dismantling the remnants of the Military Council in Pauktaw Township.

They also expressed profound acknowledgment for the Arakan martyrs who sacrificed their lives and limbs, as well as the courageous warriors who fought with unwavering valour during the operation to capture the Tarunaing base. Their contributions will be earnestly honored and duly recorded; AA announced.

AA has invited new recruits who genuinely love the Arakan Fatherland, with the objective of safeguarding and ensuring the security of military bases captured by AA, as well as abandoned enemy outposts and planned future military targets.

The AA has called on all young people with a strong sense of nationalism, and responsibility, to join its ranks.
