Sittwe: A teenager missing from home for several days has been found in an army recruitment unit in Sittwe, said a family member.
"We found him in the army recruitment unit in the Light Infantry Battalion 20 based in Sittwe, after he went missing since the first week of September, 2008," he said.
Tin Win Naing (14), left home on September 4 after his father scolded him for misbehaving. Tin Win Naing is the son of U Maung Tin Aung and the late Daw Rouk Soe Ma from plot number three, Kadaw Gyi Ward in Sittwe.
"I went to the battalion along with his father to take him home, but the army authorities refused to hand him over to his father," the family
member said.
"The army officer said it was impossible to hand him over to his family as he was already enrolled on the army recruitment list," he added.
U Maung Tin Aung has been suffering mentally unable to get back his son from the Burmese Army recruiters.
"The youth is only 14, so the father is suffering deep mental stress for his son," the family member said.
