Narinjara News has learned that the Bangladeshi Navy apprehended two boats and arrested 15 fishermen on the boats who had entered their territorial waters on the evening of 21st January.
The two boats were fishing near St Martin’s Island (also known as Coconut Island in Burmese) at the mouth of the Naf River when the men were arrested according to Cox’s Bazar News.
An officer from the Bangladeshi navy camp based on St Martin’s Island confirmed the arrests. He said that the fishermen and boats will be sent to Teknaf Port, where the fishermen will be put on trial.
