The Burmese authority has handed over 75 Bangladeshi nationals to its counterpart after a commander level flag meeting on Thursday morning, said official reports.
The flag meeting was held between the border security forces of two neighboring country namely Nasaka and BGB at Maungdaw, a western border town of Burma.
According to Burmese Nasaka sources, 75 Bangladeshi were handed over to BGB after the two year jail terms served by them was over. Both the Bangladeshi nationals were arrested in the Burmese territory two years back, when they tried to flee to Malaysia illegally by a machine boat.
In the Nasaka- BGB meeting, ten member Burmese team was led by Nasaka deputy director of sector-6, U Soe Naing and the eight member Bangladeshi team was led by BGB 42 Battalion Commander Lt Colonel Md Jahid Hasan.
The flag meeting, which is a regular practice between the Nasaka and BGB at least once in a month, also discussed about the issues of Muslim influx to Bangladesh, Yaba & illegal drugs trade and the cross border robberies.
