The meeting would be held between the two neighboring countries 8 months after their last meeting, which was held in Dhaka on December 28th, 2010.

In the coming meeting, the two countries will discuss a number of important issues including how to deal with Muslim refugees from Burma, border security and maritime disputes between two countries.

A two member Bangladeshi delegation led by Foreign Secretary Mijarul Queyas will attend the meeting but as yet there is no released information on who will be representing Burma at the meeting.

The report said that Bangladesh and Burma had discussed many issues in their previous meeting but no significant progress had been made on some contentious issues.

In the last foreign ministry level meeting, the two countries discussed many issues relating to gas and oil exploration in the Bay of Bengal, indiscriminate travel to Bangladesh by Muslims from the Arakan state, cross border drug trade, illegal trafficking of women and children and the prevention of smuggling.

Bangladesh was hopeful that bilateral solutions could be reached between the two countries to solve some of these problems.
