New Delhi (Mizzima) - A manpower training and consultancy firm FranklinCovey has explored options of setting-up an office in Burma, and will begin operations by the next fiscal year.

The marketing head of FranklinCovey South Asia, Amit Bhasin, told Mizzima on Monday that the company, dealing in consultation and human resource training, will open an office in military-ruled Burma, as there is a potential market waiting to be explored.

“As of now, what I can say is opening an office in Myanmar [Burma] will be the first thing to consider in the next fiscal year. And by the third quarter of the fiscal year, we will know more in detail,” Bhasin said.

The FranklinCovey for India and South Asia has its headquarters in New Delhi’s Gurgaon area and has over 240 employees.  It has been providing services to large IT firms and financial institutes.

The company, co-founded by Stephen Covey, author of ‘The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People’, is now gearing up to provide services to local entities in Burma and Afghanistan.

“But we will need to create a market in Burma,” said Bhasin adding that companies in the Southeast Asian nation could use their services that deals in training of leaders, providing consultations, and ‘Developing  and Building Organizational and Personal Effectiveness’.

The FranklinCovey, headquartered in Wet Valley City of Utah in the United States, provides ‘Training and Consulting’ services to about 80 of the Fortune 100 companies, and over a three-fourth of the Fortune 500 companies, according to its official website.
