United Nations Special Envoy to Burma Ibrahim Gambari has left Burma , according to U.N. sources.

The United Nations Information Center in Rangoon reports this evening that “Mr. Gambari has left Myanmar and will be reporting to the Secretary General on his mission,” following meetings with the diplomatic community and U.N. personnel.

While details of the content of his meetings with National League for Democracy leaders, including Aung San Suu Kyi, remain scarce, early indications are that the Special Envoy’s latest visit, his third since last September, bore little success.
