Myanmar Airways International will operate the Yangon-South Korea flights five times a week as of October 26, Daw Aye Mra Thar, marketing manager of MAI told Mizzima on October 10.
Korean Air already operate a Yangon – Seoul route on a daily basis and Asian a Airlines fly the route on a Thursday and Saturday, but the new MAI flights will open up a choice to the aviation passenger.
“Thanks to direct flights, MAI may attract globetrotters for their more visits to Myanmar to raise arrival number in the nation and contribute a great deal towards enhancement of economic sector between Myanmar and the Republic of Korea,” said Daw Aye Mra Thar.
MAI will employ an Airbus A-320 on the direct flight schedules to South Korea. The company already operates Airbus A-320 and A-319 for their flights to international flights to Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Guangzhou and Gaya.
