Myanmar is to send delegates to Malaysia for talks on how to deal with the problem of violence spreading among the migrant Myanmar community in that country.

Presidential spokesman Ye Htut

Ye Htut, the vice minister of information and the president’s official spokesperson, announced the news on Facebook on Monday.

In response to a question from Democratic Voice of Burma that same day, he said he could not confirm the exact date when delegates would travel to Malaysia, but said the Myanmar government would not ignore its citizens.

Meanwhile, many Myanmar migrants in Kuala Lumpur and other areas where many Myanmars are congregated have left their homes to find sanctuary in monasteries or other places in fears of violent attacks by gangs. Some have even arranged to return to Myanmar.
