A car rally from Germany comprising 54 travelers in 29 vehicles arrived on March 3 at Inlay in Myanmar’s Shan State after passing safely through the Indo-Myanmar border.
“These German tourists have come to observe the people’s traditions and culture in Inlay,” said Aung Kyaw Moe, the secretary of Taunggyi Hotel Zone.
The rally drivers arrived in Myanmar after a journey through Russia, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, Bhutan, Nepal, India and Bangladesh. They crossed last week at the Tamu-Kalay border and continued to Monywa, Pakokku, Bagan, Mandalay and Kalaw before reaching Inlay. The next leg of the rally will take the 54 adventurers to China.
The tour was arranged by Journeys Nature and Cultural Exploration in cooperation with Germany based Sea Bridge Motorhome.
