Fifteen people were killed and 20 seriously injured in a bus accident in Tedim Township at 11 am on 26 November.
The ‘Chin Hill Bus’ began its run from Tonzang town. It plummeted 200 feet into a gorge eight miles from Tedim town. Twelve passengers died on the spot and three died later after being admitted to Tedim civil hospital, said Pu Thancinglian in Tedim town.
The passengers were travelling to attend a ceremony at the Cope Memorial Baptist Church (CMBC) on its centenary in Tedim town, from 26 to 28 November.
There were about 100 passengers in the bus. The accident occurred because the bus was overloaded and the condition of the road was bad.
Now, 20 persons are being treated in Tedim civil hospital and some are said to be fighting for their lives. The dead are yet to be identified.
