The Matupi education department, in Chin state, has reduced the fees for job vacancies applications, from 3,000 Kyats (US $3.52) to 1,500 Kyats (US $1.80), starting this month.
The No. 1, Basic High School and No.2, Basic High School reduced the application form fees to 1500 Kyats (US $1.76) after receiving a letter of complaint that was submitted by the students’ parents.
“The headmaster of Matupi high school said the application forms will only cost 1,500 Kyats,” said a school teacher, “approximately, four-hundred applicants applied for the vacant jobs.”
The Matupi education department already requires between 6,000 Kyats (US $7.04) to 10,000 (US $11.74) Kyats for school fees and 2,000 Kyats (US $2.34) for the mathematics pass certificate, according to one Matupi student.
“Some students had to pay the education department in five installments,” said an elder from Cang Bong block.
Chin state is one of the states in Myanmar.
