Chin Backpack and Health Worker Team (CBPHWT) organised workshops to educate locals how to prevent illnesses which would reduce their dependence on medicine.
Many illnesses can be reduced if people understand more about how to live healthy, said CBPHWT Director Salai Dawt Mang
“There is lack of education in rural areas regarding health issues. Medicines may work in the short term but people shouldn’t be dependent on them for being healthy.”
The workshops, took place in different villages along the Indo-Burma border, from May 7-9.
A total of 58 health workers, committee members, midwives and workers met with locals to discuss different strategies for implementing preventive health measures on a rural level.
