Chin ministers meet Chin state people

Six Chin ministers including Mr. Hung Ngai, the Prime Minister of Chin state, Burma, met Chin people in Teddim township on 29 April.

The ministers led by Mr. Ngai met local people, town elders and government employees in Kam Hau Hall in Tedim town. They discussed the policy of the new Chin state government and local development issues, said a local resident.

Local people brought up the subject of development of the state in different sectors including health and education for the new government’s consideration. The ministers wanted the support of local NGOs.

Surprisingly, the PM quoted from the Bible chapter 13, verse 1 in the meeting hall and said “Everyone must obey the state authorities, because no authority exists without God's permission, and the existing authorities have been put there by God," adding that all nationals should pray for others for unity and work for the cause.

The ministers’ group visited the Microsoft industrial unit in the mountains of Thiri Ottama near Tedim town and silk industrial units.

The New Light of Myanmar newspaper reported that the Chin state PM’s group visited and donated money to patients in Tedim civil hospital but it did not mention how much was given to each patient.

The six ministers also visited Kalemyo, Sagaing division and Hakha, the capital of Chin state. They surveyed the highway construction, the Laiva river hydro-electric power project near Falam town and Ngachip river hydro electric power project, said the government newspaper.

The ministers included Mr. Hung Ngai, Prime Minister Mr. Neng Naing, Administrative and Industry Minister, Mr. Van Thawng, Agriculture Minister, Dr. Ba Maung, Social Affairs Minister , Cin Lian Pau, Transport, Communication and Construction Minister and Mr. Kyaw Nyein, Energy, Electricity, Mining and Forest Minister.
