20 April 2011: A well meaning doctor in Khampat, Tamu township of Sagaing division attached to the civil hospital was transferred to Falam township of Chin state following a complaint born out of jealousy by Naypyidaw, the new capital of Burma.
Dr. Dingliana charged very little fees from local people so his colleagues and co-workers complained to the authorities in Naypyidaw. He was transferred to a remote area of Chin state, Burma.
"He (Dr. Dingliana) charged only Kyat 30,000 as operation fees from patients, so, other doctors were jealous of him. The others doctors were known to charge Kyat one lakh as operation charges per patient and that is why they complained and he was transferred to a remote area," said a local from Khampat village.
Residents of around 20 villages surrounding Khampat have appealed to Naypyidaw authorities not to transfer the good doctor, but an order was issued to transfer Dr. Dingliana to Lung Bang Village of Falam Township, Chin state.
"He was good to the people, because he knew the locals were poor. He was a remarkable person and felt for the people. We cannot find another person like him. Local people are very disappointed about his transfer," said a local from Khampat.
Khampat is a village populated by mostly Chin people as are the surrounding villages of Tamu Township, Sagaing division in upper Burma.
