Maungdaw, Arakan State: The Regional Development Association (RDA) formed a steering committee yesterday in Maungdaw Town for operating in northern Arakan, including Maungdaw, Buthidaung and Rathedaung townships, according to a Maungdaw elder.

The committee was formed by Arakanese Rohingya elders from Maungdaw Township and the delegation of Arakanese Rohingya, which had come from Rangoon, the elder said.

The Maungdaw town RDA will control all the sub-offices of other townships, the elder added.

The committee members are - Dr. Nurul Haque (Htun Aung), Azim Ullah (Ward number 2), Yunus (Ward number 2), Nur Husson (ward number 2), Rashid (Ward number 2), Moulvi Enus (Ward Number 2), Jaffor (Ward Number 5), Raduwan (Aleythankyaw), Ayub (Ngakura) and Sein Win (Aleythankyaw).

Dr. Nurul Haque (Htun Aung) was appointed chairman and Azim Ullah secretary. There were others appointed members.

Meanwhile, six-Arakanese Rohingya and nine-Arakanese Rakhine were selected as committee members of the USDP in Maungdaw Township.
