The ship got stranded in the Bay of Bengal because it sustained damages at the bottom on its way to Chittagong from Burma with smuggled goods.

Some fishermen went to the spot by engine boats and saw bottles of alcohol in the ship. But, there was no one in the ship, said a fisherman from Court Bazaar.

Many important things were looted by the local people from the ship. Later, Ukhiya police station took note of the matter.
