Cox’s Bazaar, Bangladesh: Twenty Burmese refugees from Nayapara and Kutupalong camps in Bangladesh will fly to a third country soon as part of a resettlement programme, said a refugee schoolteacher from the camp.

One family comprising six members from Nayapara camp and 14 members of four families from Kutupalong camp, totaling 20 refugees, including women and children will soon fly to a third country from Dhaka airport.

Earlier, they were trained to adjust to the culture of the host countries where they will be re-settled.

Nine refugees of two families from Kutupalong camp will fly to New Zealand. Six refugees of one family from Nayapara camp and five refugees of two families from Kutupalong camp, totaling 11 refugees will fly to Australia.

New Zealand and Australia have received Rohingya refugees as part of a resettlement programme earlier also.
