Teknaf, Bangladesh:  Suffering from diarrhea a refugee girl child died yesterday at around 11 am while on her way to Cox's Bazar hospital from the Leda camp after being treated at the Islamic Relief International (IRI) clinic in Naya Para refugee camp, said a close relative of the victim. 

She was identified as Parbin (3-months), daughter of Abdu Shuker, Block B, Shed No.157 of Dum Dum Meah unofficial refugee camp.

Parbin was sent to IRI clinic yesterday after suffering from diarrhea at about 2 pm, but she was unable to get admission as the clinic was closed. However, later at about 7 pm, the patient was admitted to the clinic.

She was put on oxygen but her condition was critical.  She was referred to Cox's Bazaar Hospital.

The following day, when the patient was being taken to Cox's Bazaar by an IR car she died even as the vehicle reached Ukhiya station.  The body was brought to the camp and buried, said her mother.

At present, there are six refugee patients admitted in the IR clinic from Dum Dum Meah camp. They are suffering from malaria, vomiting and digestive disorders. There are also accident cases.
