Teknaf, Bangladesh : An abundance of hair worth Taka 2.1 million was sized by Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) from the Bangladesh-Burma border on April 27 while it was being smuggled to Burma , according to our correspondent.
 
The hair was brought to Teknaf from various places to be smuggled to Burma . It was kept in a place near a Buddhist temple of Chawdhury Para in Nilla union, Cox's Bazaar district, sources said.
 
On being tipped off, the commander of Nilla BDR out post went to the spot and sized a huge number of sacks of hair worth Taka 2.1 million en route to Burma . Sensing the presence of the BDR, the smugglers fled. No body was arrested.
 
However, the BDR filed a case in the Teknaf police station against the smugglers, said a close aide of the BDR.
